Condolences
Lyle and I were friends with Marion through Lyle's friendship with Romy over several years. We enjoyed her sense of humor and watching some of their travel videos with them.
Marion joined our family when I wasn't yet a teenager, but she always made me feel like a valued sister. I remember her inviting me to join her on a class trip to Sibbald Flats as well as on various hikes and camping trips, and I was impressed with her knowledge of all the wildflowers and many aspects of nature, as well as her ability and willingness to share her enthusiasm with everyone. She was incredibly organized, and was unfailingly helpful in her special way. She was the one who thought to bring songsheets for everyone on Christmas eve, and her voice during the singing was a mainstay and kept the rest of us on track. I will miss her smile and her hugs, and remember her presence in our lives with gratitude and love.
My sincere condolences to Romy and Marion's family on her passing. I had the pleasure of being able to work alongside Marion when she volunteered for Bird School at the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary. Her passion for teaching, as well as her love of the outdoors shone through during her volunteering time with us and I know many students that came through our doors had that passion rub off on them. She made a huge impact on all of us. Marion was a kind soul, with a great sense of humour and she will be missed.
Sincerely,
Trina Vickery
