April 4, 1936 – Temuco, Chile

March 18, 2024 Calgary, Alberta

Claudio Quinteros Acevedo, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 18, 2024, at the age of 87 years.

Claudio was born on April 4, 1936, in Temuco, Chile, to Blanca Acevedo Fritz and Rigoberto Quinteros. In May of 1974, Claudio immigrated to Canada with his six children, driven by a profound desire to provide his family with better opportunities and a brighter future. His unwavering dedication and sacrifice laid the foundation for a legacy of love and resilience. In December 1988, Claudio married Hinnelia Quinteros, with whom he shared a daughter, Stacey, further enriching his family circle.

Claudio was the last survivor of his siblings, leaving behind cherished memories of his brothers, Rigoberto, Edgardo, Vicente, Sergio, and Gustavo; and sisters, Silvia and Mercedes.

He will be deeply missed by his three sons, Claudio, Jamie, and Gonzalo; his six daughters, Deyanira, Ximena Karina, Laura, Carmen, Angelica, and Stacey; as well as his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Claudio's love extended beyond borders, as he maintained close ties with family in Chile, always ready to offer support and assistance.

Claudio dedicated himself to his work as a Boiler Operator for the Calgary Board of Education, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and students alike. His dedication and hard work were evident in everything he did, leaving an indelible mark on those he encountered.

Upon retirement, Claudio found joy in travelling back to his homeland in Chile, never arriving empty-handed and always extending a helping hand to those in need. He cherished his moments of relaxation, savouring a cup of coffee while perusing news articles on his computer.

One of Claudio's greatest sources of pride and companionship was his beloved dog, Buddy, who remained his faithful companion and confidant throughout the years. In his earlier years, Claudio found solace in the tranquillity of early mornings, relishing walks and runs on the treadmill, later accompanied by his cherished four-legged friend.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all those who have shown their love and support during this challenging time. Claudio Quinteros Acevedo will be deeply missed by his wife, his faithful companion Buddy, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
