Obituary of Margaret Anne Blair

July 22, 1929 – Berwin, Alberta

March 19, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Margaret Anne Blair, at the age of 94 years. Marg passed away at the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary, AB, on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, with her loved ones by her side.

Marg was loved and will be greatly missed by her daughters, Honor (John) and Maureen (Dave); as well as her loving sister, Marion, several nephews and nieces, her great-nephew, Austin, and many friends, both young and old. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Bill, her brother Sandy Newlands, and her mother and father, Eva and Alexander Newlands.

Marg was an avid and very skilled golfer and belonged to the Earl Grey Golf Club for over 50 years. She was also an enthusiastic curler and will be sorely missed by her remaining curling partners, Marg Derbyshire and Phil Gavelin. Many thanks to the Staywell Manor staff for all their exemplary care and love for the past seven years, as well as to the Rockyview Hospital staff on Unit 47 for their compassion and gentle care.

A Celebration of Marg’s Life will be planned for a later date.
