Candace MARSHALL

Obituary of Candace Bette MARSHALL

July 29, 1945 – Esterhazy, Saskatchewan
September 29, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Candace Marshall was born on July 29, 1945, the eldest of three children to Herbert and Irene Vickers; she passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 29, 2019, at the age of 74 years and will be sorely missed.

Candace and her family lived on a farm outside of Bredenbury, SK until 1954, and then moved to Calgary where she attended school and eventually graduated from Central High School. She later went on to work in the payroll department of a busy oil company. Candace loved her grandchildren dearly, Averie Marshall, Devin Marshall (Jessica Marshall), Brent Marshall (Alicia Marshall), Dalton and Shyla; and her great-grandchildren, Tristan Marshall, Austin Marshall and Hunter Marshall. Next to her family the great loves of her life were bowling, crafting and shopping. Candace was a champion bowler who won a spot on the Canadian Team in 1981. She bowled for Team Canada in Bogota where she won the gold medal and her friend Miriam won a silver; a heroic moment for both of them. Candace traveled and competed in tournaments held at locations like Las Vegas, Great Falls, and many others. She was a first-class bowler. She also sold real estate for a while and then found her love for crafting which she excelled at for many years. Anyone who knew Candace knew she loved to shop; anywhere, anytime! Candace and her husband, Jack bought a summer place out at the Shuswap Lake where family and friends were welcomed with open arms.  From family and friends to teammates and co-workers, she was our advisor, our confidant and every possible person that we all needed and depended on. Candace will be missed by everyone!

Besides Jack, her loving husband of fifty-one years, Candace is survived by her two sons, Murray Marshall and Gregg Marshall (Kim Mak); her sister Shelley Cook (Ed Ross); and nephew Jeff Cook; as well as stepson Robert Marshall (Marlene Payne). She was predeceased by her brother Blake Vickers.
