Robin Ferrari

Obituary of Robin James Ferrari

February 24, 1953 – High River, Alberta

October 3, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

With profound sadness we are sharing the passing of Robin James Ferrari of Calgary, AB, on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the age of 66 years after a battle with cancer.

Robin was born in High River, Alberta. He moved to Swan Hills in 1962 and then back to Calgary in 1969. In his youth, he lived in Banff and travelled to Europe and Asia. In the 90s, Robin owned Alberta Copier Systems and in his last several years, he worked for APP Canada. He was the best dad, husband and person to be around. He had the gift of making anyone feel comfortable and safe in his presence. He loved going fishing, listening to Pink Floyd, piloting toy helicopters, throwing around a frisbee, and Stephen Wright quotes. His wry sense of humour was intact until the end.

A husband, dad, grandfather, and friend to many, he is survived by Robin (nee Barker), his wife of 41 years; his daughters, Mandy Ferrari (Malcolm), and Samantha Ferrari (Simon); his brothers, Rick Ferrari (Isabel), and Drew Ferrari (Kurt, Madison); his grandson, Arthur; and his ‘damn bird,’ cockatoo Q. Robin was predeceased by his father Roy and mother June.

A Celebration of Robin's life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, Oct 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, www.cancer.ca. The family would like to thank the kind staff at Carewest Sarcee Hospice  and all the nurses from Cochrane for taking such good care of Robin.

A tree will be planted in living memory of Robin Ferrari.  McInnis and Holloway Funeral Homes, Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB T2S 2L5, Telephone: 403-243-8200.
