Obituary of Darcy Ernest SCHUTTE

December 21, 1966 – Calgary, Alberta
October 3, 2019 – Cochrane, Alberta

It is with broken hearts that the family and loved ones of Darcy regret to announce his sudden passing at the age of 52 years. 

Darcy was raised and educated in Calgary and he was proud to call Calgary his home. Darcy loved football, his beloved New England Patriots of course. He also loved golfing with family and friends and was a fan of Tiger Woods. Darcy was very close with his family, especially his mother. He was the star of his mother’s heart. At the young age of seventeen, he began working in the granite and tile industry. He apprenticed on major projects such as Banker’s Hall before moving to Vancouver to continue learning his trade. Darcy’s love of his family brought him back to Alberta. Darcy would continue with his passion of stone and granite fabrication for the next thirty years, working for several of the top fabrication companies in AB. He was well liked and respected within his field. When Darcy met and fell in love with Danette, a very special lady, he moved to Lacombe to be with Danette and her son Dominic. There he met Dale Moench who gave Darcy an opportunity to continue working in his trade. Darcy had great respect for Dale, thought the world of him and they worked together for seven years. Later, Darcy and Danette settled in Red Deer. 

Darcy is survived by his mother Gail Schutte, his beautiful sister Mickey, brother-in-law Steve, his nephew Kyle, and his niece Ashley of Cochrane, his Auntie Cory of Lethbridge and his special lady, Danette Pierce of Lacombe. Darcy also had many cousins and other relatives through out AB and SK.

Darcy’s family has found peace in knowing that he was welcomed by the open arms of his father. He will be forever loved, and we will miss his voice, his smile and his infectious laugh. Until we meet again, God will watch over you now.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Cochrane, 369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB), on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.  Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
