Condolences
Cathy and I are saddened to learn of Leona’s passing. We remember her from our Ottawa days and how lovely and gracious she was. Cathy remembers her cooking skills, wow. To you Oscar, and your family, we send our deepest condolences.
Leona was a beautiful intelligent person who touched the lives of so many people. You know this by the number of family and friends that attended her celebratory service last Saturday. I would like to thank all of you who attended and the words of comfort that you shared with us. We will certainly miss her and the wonderful person she was.
There are no words that can describe the emotions that you are going through at this time Oscar. You and Leona shared so much over the past 55 plus years. Oscar, we owe you a debt of gratitude for sharing, loving and being there by her side all those years. In particular, I believe it was your strength, love and devotion that she called upon to live the last 13 or so years with her pulmonary fibrosis. It was definitely not easy for you. We know that you have the support and love of your children, grandkids and also your own siblings and their families. We thank them for being there for you. You have so many fond memories of Leona that you can call upon to help you get through as you grieve her passing. Thanks Oscar and if there is anyway we can help all you have to do is ask.

Sorry to hear of Leona’s passing, may her soul Rest In Peace - love and prayers - George and Joyce Huber - from support group!
Leona was one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met; inside and out. She’d just returned from a research project, she told us, the first time I met her. A shopping trip where she used her excellent analytical and calculation skills. They certainly paid off. She was always perfectly ‘put-together’, as was her home, her yard; everything that she put her talented hand to. Leona was a perfect lady with a musical, trilling laugh and, an earthy sense of humor. Visiting Oscar and Leona was such a treat. There was always lively conversation, every comfort one could ask for, and, oh, the food. What a tremendous hostess and cook she was! I’ll miss her tremendously. My heart goes out to her family to whom she was so close. May the many happy memories of Leona sustain them at this difficult time.
Love,

To Oscar and Family. . . I am saddened to learn of the passing of Leona. My husband Dick and I met you both at the PF Support Group meetings. You were always by her side. I remember thinking how distinguished and dignified Leona presented herself. She was very quiet but when she laughed her whole face smiled. Leona's courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis is over but her strength and love are forever present. My prayers and thoughts are with you.
Sincere condolences Oscar and All of Leona's family on her passing. We shared many wonderful gatherings at the PF Support Group meetings. I will always remember Leona's magical eyes and warm smiles through her courageous battle with PF. She remains in my thoughts and prayers.
