Condolences
I was sorry to hear of Stan's passing. I only met him briefly when I bought his home in Parkridge Estates, but I remember him as a kind, thoughtful, and engaging man. I was going through separation at the time, and bought many of the household goods that Stan no longer needed. I was amazed at his thoughtfulness when he washed the sheets and made the beds before he moved out! He also proudly showed me around his new apartment at Whitehorn Village when I dropped off some mail.
I was very happy to see Stan was acknowledged at the Remembrance Day ceremony in Strathmore, and to see him in the newspaper.
I don't have any contact information, but I have a tax receipt here that showed up recently.
My condolences to the family. He was a Dad, grandfather and great grandfather that you could be very proud of. RIP Mr. Squires.
As a child living either my Nanny and Papa.
My favorite memories are waking up for breakfast and every morning Papa would pre mix my bitter and peanut butter for me (because it made the peanut better smooth). He ALWAYS sliced my apple, and never complained (evening though as an adult I now know it was a hassle because of "my" process. But Papa just knew if it made my day to have my apple sliced that way he would happily do it for me. When I would come home from school he was always right there waiting for me to go on a bike ride, or a walk with the dogs.
He is the most patient, and understanding. Everyone who had the pleasure of being in a room with him just knew when Papa was talking everyone was listening!
This past remembrance day he had a line of people who just wanted to shake his hand. He looked as me and said "Danielle, why are all these please coming to me?" And with tears in both our eyes freezing cold outside I told him "because you are so special Papa!"
I will hold onto my memories of you, the same way you held onto your memories of me for my whole life!
I know Nanny was stand at the big white gates waiting to embrace you with love! I have peace knowing that you are both together again, and I have 1 more angel to always watch over me, and my boys!
Forever in our hearts ♡

Our sincere sympathies to you all, the family, from a former St. Eustache neighbor. What a wonderful long life. May he rest peacefully.
Ian Crawford.
Heaven is a bit richer with the homegoing of my friend Stan. We may miss him here, but there is rejoicing in heaven!
It was an honor being his pastor for a few short years.
