Obituary of Marjorie Wilkie Burnside Stuart

Marjorie "Marj" Stuart passed away in Calgary, AB, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the age of 82 years.

Born on August 21, 1941, in Stirling, Scotland, Marj was the beloved daughter of the late Harold Littlejohn Grozier and Alexandrina Grozier. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Thomas Keith Stuart, her son Glenn Allan Stuart, and her beloved dog, Jessie.

Marj is survived by her son Tom (Tommy) Stuart, daughter Laurie-Anne Chow (nee Stuart), and grandchildren, Jackson Stuart, Harrison Stuart, Samantha Chow, Brandon Chow, and Gavin Chow. Marj is also survived by her brother John Grozier.

Marj enjoyed being a mother and raising her three children, Tommy, Laurie-Anne, and Glenn.  Her weekends were spent with her family, attending her sons’ hockey games, and taking trailer camping trips together throughout Alberta.

Although Marj enjoyed the independence of retirement, she always offered to house-sit, dog-sit, and be there for the grandkids when required.

One memorable vacation with Marj was during the summer of 2014 while camping in Osoyoos, BC, with her daughter Laurie-Anne, son-in-law Don, and their three children, Samantha, Brandon, and Gavin. Marj (Nana) surprised everyone by putting on her bathing suit and diving into the deep end of the swimming pool!

She was a woman known for her sharp appearance and impeccable home. Her hobbies included knitting dishcloths for her family and friends, playing cards, and shopping.

Marj’s family would like to extend their gratitude to all the residents and staff at Luxstone Manor Senior Living, who provided friendship and support to Marj. She was well-liked by many and she enjoyed her time there.

A private cremation service was held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, as per Marj's wishes.

Rest in peace Mom, Marj, Nana. You will be forever missed and always remembered by those whose lives you touched.
