Obituary of Linda Ann Robertson

March 28, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta

Linda Ann Robertson, a bright and vibrant soul, passed away unexpectedly on March 28, 2024, in Calgary, AB, with her loving family by her side.

She was predeceased in death by her father, Bruce Robertson, who now rests in eternal peace with her. Left to remember and miss her immensely are her mother, Eileen Robertson, her partner Richard Backs, son, Ryan (Deanna), and daughter, Tanis (Dave); her cherished grandchildren, who were the light of her life, Linden, Kassandra, Kai, Cruz, Clay, Suzy, Summer, and the anticipated arrival of a baby boy in May. She also leaves behind cousins Anita and Rhonda, along with numerous relatives and friends across British Columbia, Arizona, England, and New Zealand.

Linda was born in Vancouver on March 20, 1953. She lived in Vancouver during her childhood, graduating from Killarney Secondary School, then moving to Delta, White Rock, and eventually settled in Calgary where she met the love of her life, Richard. She was so excited to be marrying him this June.

She was deeply committed to her Catholic faith, which provided her peace and guidance throughout much of her adult life.

Linda loved people. She made friends easily, and her family and many friends loved her right back. She exuded warmth, generosity, and style, her infectious laughter filling any room. She also loved travel, gardening, sunshine, dogs, Starbucks, taking photos, swimming, her Peloton bike, and many lucky people enjoyed her wonderful baking. With a heart as expansive as her interests, she never failed to mark special moments with meticulously crafted letters, cards, cherished photographs, or fragrant bouquets, ensuring that those around her felt truly seen and appreciated.

She loved helping people, so it is no surprise that she was an organ donor, her final act of generosity. We are comforted by the fact that she will live on in the many recipients of this wonderful gift.

We will love and miss Linda always.

A Funeral Mass to honour Linda’s life will be celebrated at St. Peters Church (541 Silvergrove Drive, Calgary, AB) on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.

Plans to commemorate her life are currently under consideration, and her family wishes to convey to all those who held her dear, and were held dear by her, that this process holds significant importance to them. Further details will be provided in due course.
