Obituary of Grace M Brown

August 21, 1942 – Humboldt, Saskatchewan

March 8, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Grace M. Brown (nee Sluchinski), our wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend, on Friday, March 8, 2024.

Born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, to William Sluchinski and Patricia Markevitch, Grace grew up in Peterson, Saskatchewan, with her brothers and sisters; Patricia, Darlene, Don, Lois, Rita, Mary Ellen, Alvin, and William. Grace started work at SaskPower, and married the love of her life, Ken James Brown, on July 6, 1963.

Grace and Ken moved to Calgary in the summer of 1974, and raised their ever-growing family; her son Warren (Bonnie) and their children Cassandra and Zachary, her daughter Sondra and her children Zoee, Kayla, and Leah.

Grace was a fine artist, a meticulous bookkeeper, a generous host to visitors from far and wide, an amazing cook, and the heartbeat of our family.

Especially known for her love for her family and friends, Grace will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Grace’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing.

A Celebration of Grace’s life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to STARS Air Ambulance, 1441 Aviation Park N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 8M7, Tel; 403-295-1811; www.stars.ca
