Obituary of Paul Michael Reshetylo

May 17, 1958 – Calgary, Alberta

April 9, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Paul Reshetylo of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at the age of 65 years.

Paul was born and raised in Calgary, AB, on May 17, 1958. He attended Bishop Grandin High School. He joined Calgary Transit in 1981, where he started his career as a bus driver and later became a LRT Operator. He explored positions in Rail Control, LRT Training Department, and after 33 years, retired as an operations supervisor. Paul married Louise on July 17, 2017.

He volunteered with Red Cross Kettles, ringing the bells, and handing out candy canes at Christmas for many years. He was a Snow Angel and neighborhood watch to his block in Acadia.

Paul accomplished much throughout his life and was particularly proud of his children, Jason, Stephanie, and Daniel; and his grandchildren.

He enjoyed his aquarium fish hobby, making sure his tanks were always clean. He was particularly proud of his very pristine yard. He always had the greenest grass on the block.

Paul’s most memorable vacation was his first trip to Mexico, where he tattooed his memories on his back.

His favourite quote and words he lived by were: “Four things you can’t recover. The stone, after the throw. The word, after it’s said. The occasion, after it’s missed. The time, after it’s gone.”

He will be most remembered for his quick wit. He was very funny!

Besides his loving wife, Louise, Paul is survived by his son Jason (Anne), and daughter Stephanie (Shawn). Paul is also survived by his brother Brad, and sisters, Ann (Ryan), Debbie, and Dawn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Paul was predeceased by his loving son Daniel (1987- 2016), and his parents, Joe and Pauline Reshetylo.
