Condolences
I had the pleasure of volunteering with Isabelle at Inn From The Cold for many years. She was always smiling, always sharing the warmth of her voice and personality. She was a desperately needed kind soul when it felt like the world was against me. I will never forget her vibrancy, her kindness, her spectacular collection of glasses.
Sending all my love.
To Bruce, Andrea & Elizabeth, all the family; condolences, absolutely heartbreaking, I will miss Isabelle, saddened by the loss of her.
The world is lacking without her presence and gracious energy.
I so admired her style, assurance hear the stories behind all the projects she entrusted me with.
I loved her clarity, uniqueneness and thoughtful approach to life. Her care for others was always apparent.
I'm so thankful to have known her and been introduced to all of you; her dearest, loved ones.
She was a force, She was a joy, She will be greatly missed.
I am so sorry for the loss of Isabelle. We always had the best visits together. She would regale me with stories of her life and beautiful family. Isabelle was one of a kind, her spirit is imprinted on my heart forever.
Bruce
I was so sadden to hear of Isabel’s passing.
I looked so forward to seeing her in the spring when we would come to do the gardening. She was always there to greet us with a smile and a laugh. And always the earrings!!
She will be missed!

Isabelle was my Aunt, my mother's sister. She wasn't much older than my sister, my brother and I. We 3 children always had lots of fun with our "Auntie Anne."
Although I was too young to remember, Isabelle recalled my dad playing "Oh My Papa" on the trumpet as we (and the mice) all danced around in the tiny farmhouse near Tilley.
Isabelle was also my beauty consultant when I was a teenager; she had her work cut out for her. She never gave up hope.
(I am fairly certain I was with her when Bruce was introduced to her at Strathmore "Whooper Upper Days Parade.") Then again, as I used to tell everyone, one may want to "Fact Check" this.
Isabelle would have us come and spend a weekend or 2 with her when she lived in downtown Calgary. Patricia and I still recall those adventures.
Bruce and Isabelle were there for us in Calgary late into the night after Darold had passed on. I remember all of us , including Pastor Sartison being invited into their home; I felt so grateful to be with them that night
Isabelle was very thoughtful, caring and instinctively reached out to me and others when we were in need of a smile, some stories, some hugs and loving, enthusiastic feedback and affirmations.
Isabelle was by my bedside, taking such good care of me when I had major surgery on 2 occasions in Edmonton. On one occasion, I called her at the last minute and she was at the hospital the next day. I also thank Bruce for being there, too.
In addition, Isabelle was very devoted to recording the stories of our family members who lived before us. She would also help others record their life stories, including those in Palliative Care.
I learned so much about my maternal side's ancestors.
Isabelle was a very interesting woman and lived a full, purpose-filled life.
She loved writing and reading books of substance and shared many with me. Richard Wagamese was one of her favourite authors. And now, thanks to Isabelle sharing the stories and books of Richard Wagamese, he is a favourite of mine. He has passed on as well and I know they will meet. I can just imagine the joyous encounter!
