With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Huong Thu Lieu, a beloved mother, wife, and cherished friend, who left us peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2024.

Born on March 28, 1953, in Bac Quang, Vietnam, Huong's life story is one of remarkable resilience and strength. Together with her devoted husband, Dieu An Ly, she navigated the challenges of the Vietnam War, eventually finding refuge and a new beginning in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Huong was a pillar of strength and the glue that kept her family together. She loved to play Mahjong, and was endlessly generous, always welcoming and supporting anyone in need with open arms. Her home was often filled with laughter and joy, serving as the gathering place for many memorable family occasions.

Huong leaves behind her husband, Dieu, children, Bo-Cat, Bo-Khanh, Bo-Nhat, and Jessie; along with many friends and community members whose lives she profoundly impacted. She was a source of unconditional love and support, always there to provide and uplift those around her.

Huong Thu Lieu was not just the heart of her family but a beacon of hope and love for all who knew her. Her legacy of warmth and unwavering support will forever be cherished and remembered.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB T2E 2V6) on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB T2E 2V6) on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. Reception to follow at Royal Taste Chinese Cuisine (2825 32 Ave NE, Calgary, AB T1Y 6J1).
