Condolences

What a grand achievement to reach the great age of 106. I asked
Helen prior to her 100th birthday " to what do you attribute to your
longevity Helen ? " : she thought for a few seconds and uttered
only one word. " CABBAGE " Her and my mother were very close
for over 60 or 70 years and partied together on many occaisions.
My condolences to the family.
Helen and my mom, Florence, had so much fun together at Confederation and then when they both lived at the Edgemont. They were both so young at heart. Helen was a true friend to my mom. Marjie you and I had our hands full keeping up with those two bandits!

Such a lovely lady and it was a pleasure to meet her as she busied herself around her kitchen. As a young girl I still remember her smile just like her picture. Sorry to hear of her passing. Joan Yewchuk
I remember Mrs. Stakenas well when my family and I lived in St. Andrews Heights. Both Elaine and Margie babysat my brother and me.....and on occasion, so did Mrs. Stakenas - they were a wonderful family. What a long and rewarding life she had - remarkable!
It is sad to learn that Helen has left us, after a long and well-lived life. Her sense of humour and patience will be greatly missed.

Our most sincere condolences to Marjorie, David and family for the loss of Helen. Our love to all from Gustav and Judith.
How sad to know that Helen has now passed but what a pleasure to know what a long and rewarding life she lived.
Irene and I had the pleasure of being Helen & Peter's next door neighbors from 1980 through until 2010. Besides the normal neighborly activities, in my case it was a pleasure to rent space on their motorhome pad and in their garage for my collector cars and their trailer, and to always be confident they were safe and well cared for.
Good memories and good neighbors indeed! Ron Rigby.
