Obituary of Domenico Mauro

February 5, 1938 – Mangone, Cosenza, Italy

April 24, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Domenico Mauro, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the age of 86 years.

An only child, Domenico immigrated to Canada in 1954. He met Lisiena, the love of his life, in 1961 and the two were married seven months later. Domenico was a man grounded by family and enriched by friendships.

Domenico is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lisiena, daughter Nancy (Rod) Morris, sons, Tony (Shannon) Mauro and Randy (Silvia) Mauro; and grandchildren, Madison (Keaton) Roe, Jennifer Morris, Jack Mauro, Mackenzie Morris, Brooke Mauro, Emma Morris, Nicolas Mauro, Joseph Mauro, and Anthony Mauro.

Domenico was predeceased by his parents Natale and Antonietta Mauro.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the palliative care team of the Foothills Medical Centre Unit 46.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m., prior to the Funeral Mass. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ascension Catholic Parish (1100 Berkshire Blvd NW, Calgary, AB T3K 3M3), on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. Interment Service to follow at Queen's Park Mausoleum (3219 4 St NW, Calgary, AB). Reception to follow at the Parish Hall.
