Obituary of Barry Keith Dempsey

June 24, 1954 – Regina, Saskatchewan

April 25, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Barry Keith Dempsey of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the age of 69 years. Barry was born in Regina, SK. 

Barry had a deep faith and spent his free time enjoying long walks, reading, engaging in conversations, hiking, and fishing in the beauty of water and mountains. Since 1989, Barry has been a dedicated member and sponsor of Alcoholics Anonymous.

"He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us." – 2 Corinthians 1:4

Barry is survived by his brother, Rick (Cindy) Dempsey, sisters, Sandra (Aron) Koch, and Melony Materi; and his nephews and nieces, Jodie, Lindsey (Rod), Catherine (Matt), James (Devon), Jill (Sean), and Codee (Tony); and his great-nephews and nieces, Austin, Alex, Ronan, Ainsley, McKenna, Harper, and Cohen.

He was predeceased by his parents, Wesley and Shirley Dempsey; brother-in-law, Lawrence Materi, and nephews, Aaron Simes and Scott Dempsey.

Barry will be most remembered for his infectious smile and hearty laughter. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
