Condolences
Ken and I worked together for several years in Indonesia and Ecuador, Ken at the rig and me in the office. If there was a problem at the rig at night he would call me and say one of three things: 1) we had a little problem but I took care of it and just wanted you to know before you got to the office. Or 2) we have a situation. I know what I want to do but I want to check with you first. Or 3) Get up, make a pot of coffee. I’ll call you back in 10 minutes.
I have great respect for Ken and I learned a lot from him. He was very free with his knowledge and was a mentor to many people, even holding evening technical classes at the rig site for anyone that wanted to learn. He always showed respect for everyone around him. He will be missed.
RIP Ken Foster, I was fortunate enough to have met you in the oilfield in Mexico. You were probably the nicest person I’ve ever met while working in the oilfield. You showed me just how professional a Drilling Supervisor can be. It’s a sad day as the oilfield lost a good old boy.
Hello my dear friend and mentor: so many memories full of joy that now turn into nostalgia at the reality of not seeing you again.
We shared happy moments as well as difficult ones. I met you in an oil well in Coca in Ecuador. Since that day you became a very important person in my life. We were in several wells in Colombia, Mexico, Iraq, where I scolded you for not sleeping enough or not eating well.
In Bogota I liked to go with you to drink your coffee at Juan Valdez and smoke your cigars (a passion I never shared with you). You would tell me about your family and I would tell you about mine. Ah what beautiful moments.
Always with a smile, with an accurate advice to do my job well and always guiding me in my profession.
Since my daughter Camila was born, you were the key person to develop me professionally and bring her up. My friend, you believed blindly in me and I will never forget that.
Thank you for every moment shared and I hope to see you in paradise. I love you forever my good friend.
May the perpetual light shine for you.
To your children and family in general, you were fortunate to have a great father, brother, man, by your side. Strength in these moments and may God be with you.
