Condolences
We, George Cavanagh (Terry’s brother) and wife Roma wish to express our deepest sympathy for your sudden loss of Madeleine.
We have spent time with Madeleine both here in Australia and in Canada.
She was such a force for love and good and anyone who was a part of her family and circle were truly blessed. I saw that very much on a visit with Leora almost 20 years ago to the day. She was such a matriarch with a larger than life personality. So generous, kind and uplifting both to her large family and her community. It was a joy to read her obituary and learn more about her. She lived to over 90 but how did she manage to do so much!
And of course there would be more too!
We wish you all a wonderful day at her farewell service. It will be very much a day of thanksgiving, sharing, caring and laughter.
We send you all our love as you go forward with Madeleine now residing in Heaven and in your hearts here on Earth. God Bless.
Our deepest sympathy to all of Madeleine’s family
We are the Jean family that moved to the West Coast many, many years ago so never got to know this side of the family as much as we would have liked. Over the years many of my dad's brothers and sisters came our way for a visit but MaTante did not make it prior to dad's passing. She did, however, come to Vancouver when she was living in the Yukon and needed surgery at the Vancouver General Hospital so my sister and I managed a visit with her at this time. Although our time with her was so limited, the Jean characteristics were easy to see. As our father was the eldest son of 17 children, his baby sister (Madeleine) soon became his favourite and he often spoke of her many talents.
After reading her obituary, which was beautifully written, her deep faith and love of the Church certainly stood out something she shared with our father and was so lovely to hear. It's obvious she was a wonderful example to many as to what a "good" woman she truly was. Rest in Peace dear MaTante.

I’m so sad to hear of Aunt Maddy’s passing. She was so supportive of me during my teenage angst and I’m sad I couldn’t see her one more time. My deepest condolences to my cousins and to everyone who was touched by Aunt Maddy’s beautiful soul. Much love to all.

We are saddened to hear of Madeleine’s passing. My favourite memory of her is of her dedication to making our wedding such a beautiful memory. She sewed my Wedding Gown and also all my bridal parties dresses. On every September the 18th (our wedding Anniversary) we think of her. She was such a devoted friend to Mom when we lived in Caramat and came daily for their coffee and chat. Condolences to all the family. Our thoughts and Prayers all with you all. May she Rest in peace.
The Belisle’s became my Yukon parents. Mrs. Belisle always had food and coffee for us when it was needed. One is my favourite memory is my 1st Christmas alone up in Whitehorse. Mrs Belisle had the single nurses all over for Turkey Chop Suey. It was an amazing meal and an amazing evening with so much laughter. It turned out to be one of my best Christmas’ ever!
I will miss her.
