Obituary of Lynne Clair

Lynne Clair (nee Caspar), of Airdrie, AB, and Calgary, AB, a former long-time resident of the Fairview, AB area, passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Centre on Thursday, May 9, 2024, after a lengthy illness.

Lynne was raised in the farming community of Fairview and completed nurse’s training in Vegreville, AB, in 1963. She worked in the community hospital and doctor’s office for several years, until taking a break to raise her family. She returned to the medical world in 1986, spending the next several years as a LTC nurse in Fairview, until her retirement in 2009.

She spent a few years after her husband’s death running his gravel business and farm, before selling and moving into the town of Fairview in 2003. She enjoyed her pets, playing games, and travelling. In 2012, she sold her home in Fairview and moved to Calgary to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

Lynne will be dearly missed by her four children, Jackie (Jim) of High River, AB, Dean (Michelle) of Peace River, AB, Trevor (Jennifer) of Calgary, and Kelly (Daniel) of Calgary; grandchildren, Travis, Ryan, Alexandra, Chase, Paige, Raelynne, Kaitlyn, Delainie, Zachary, Ethan, Garrett, Ellie, and Wyatt; and six great-grandchildren.

Her loss is also mourned by her sisters, Heddi McMurray of Blackfalds, AB, and Tein (Don) Casper of Terrace, BC; brother Leo Caspar of Fairview; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Wayne (1998), parents, Peter and Agnes Caspar of Fairview; siblings, Eleanor Holloway of Ft. Morgan, CO, Ramona Parenteau of Pitt Meadows, BC, Otto Caspar of Fairview, Bernadette Franchuk of Leduc, AB, and Tess D'Avis of Moses Lake, WA; as well as nieces, Karen Parenteau, Annette Holloway, and Denise Holloway; and nephew Butch Holloway.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Colin O’Rourke presiding. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.

An interment will be held at a later date, where Lynne will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Wayne, at the Waterhole Cemetery.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to a pet rescue of choice or a local humane society.
