Obituary of Rosario Talarico
March 14, 1956 – Cicala, Catanzaro, Italy
May 7, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
Rosario ‘Ross’ Talarico, beloved husband of Linda Talarico (Contrada), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at the age of 68 years.
Ross was born in Cicala, Catanzaro, Italy, on March 14, 1956, immigrated to Montreal, QC, nine months later, and later moved to Calgary, where he settled and started his family. He married Linda on June 9, 1990, and had three sons. He accomplished much throughout his life and was particularly proud of the birth of his children and the career he had as a truck driver. He loved to be behind the wheel, whether it be in his semi-truck or on his motorcycle and to take on the open road and the adventures that came with it. He also cherished his relationships with his family and friends and loved to tell his stories and be a part of the conversation. Ross also had a soft spot for animals and loved all his furry friends, Guinness, Rocky, Mia, and Champ. The experiences and trips they shared together always brought a smile to his face. Ross will be dearly missed.
Besides his loving wife, Ross is survived by his three sons, Mario, Michael and Nick; his mother Maria Talarico, two sisters, Adriana (Joe) and Rosetta (Frank); his niece and nephew, Ava of Calgary, AB, and Anthony, of Montreal, QC; brother-in-law Angelo, father-in-law Michelangelo Contrada, his two grandchildren, and he also leaves behind his loving extended family in Montreal and Italy.
Ross was predeceased by his father Giacomo Antonio Talarico, his brother-in-law John, and mother-in-law Antoinetta Contrada.
