After a life well lived Lois passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at age 96.

Lois was born in Edmonton on April 11, 1928, to Jennie and Alfred Bowen. She attended schools in Edmonton and Winnipeg, graduating from the University of Manitoba in 1949 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 1952, Lois moved from Winnipeg to Calgary with her parents and found a job as a stenographer with California Standard (Chevron Canada). There she met John Zedde, a petroleum engineer. They married two years later in 1954. John and Lois continued to live in Alberta except for two years spent living abroad in Indonesia.

Lois was predeceased by her husband John in 1998, her daughter-in-law Pam in 1997, and her parents. She is survived by her son Don (Laura), daughter Kathy, and her three grandchildren, Matthew, Jenna (Chris), and Adam (Christine).

Lois is remembered for her great love for family, a keen interest in literature, history, gardening, antiques, and Ireland, where her mother was born. Lois was also an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays.

At Lois’ request, there will be no funeral. A private interment will be held at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Sider and Dr. Cunningham at the Rockyview General Hospital, along with Dr. Radinskaia, and the Chinook Hospice staff, for their excellent and compassionate care.
