Celebration of Bunny's Life
Condolences
I’ve known bunny for about 6 years. She was a regular customer of mine in the hair salon at Aspen Verve.
It’s a good thing I’m a morning person because Bunny was as well, she loved being the first one in the salon, even before we opened, and was happy to come in just for her.
I absolutely adored Bunny. I loved her spirit, positive attitude and her love for everyone around her. She’s probably the strongest woman I’ve met. She will always be remembered.

I have known Bunny for eight years. She belonged to the Calgary exRCAF airwomen’s group who met monthly for lunch. She was one of our members who rarely missed coming to our lunches. She was one of the ones who called the ladies who didn’t have e-mail telling them about our lunches. She continued to do this until she was hospitalized. I remember when doing an article for her 100th birthday in the Airwomen’s newsletter calling her and getting all her RCAF military history on the phone. Her memory was unbelievable for her age. She was truly a remarkable woman and much admired by our group. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Florence Reid
It was my honour to get to know Bunny. She is without a doubt one of the most inspiring people I have ever met. I worked at Amica where she was living and Bunny was a force to be reckoned with. She was involved in all activities offered in the retirement home.
One winter morning, after a snowstorm, I was on one of the upper floors of Amica (now Verve) and when I peered out the window, I saw Bunny stomping her way through enormous snow drifts, to get to the bus stop on the corner. She was a petite woman and in her mid 90's at the time so I was quite concerned. When I saw her later, I asked her where in the world she was going on such a wintery day. She replied that she was going bowling. Then she told me that she couldn't really see the pins anymore, but she went for the fun of it.
Bunny had a routine every morning of walking and then riding the recumbent bike to get her exercise. Then she used to follow me around to the exercise classes. I saw Bunny last summer and I asked her if she still walked and biked every morning and she said, "Oh of course I do!".
I frequently speak of Bunny when I share stories of active aging. She was a common sense person who shared with me many pearls of wisdom. She was a kind hearted soul as well. I have a picture of her in a Halloween costume with her pole walking buddy Jacqueline. They were dressed as Thing 1 and Thing 2.
I learned a lot from Bunny and I send my deepest condolences to her family and friends who are now grieving her passing.
Thank you Bunny for setting such a fine example. Lynn
