My memories of coming to Rita's house will always be beautiful and loving memories for me. She was the most loving, happy, optimistic, and generous ones of my family (I was blessed to join hers when my grandfather -Walter and her started a nice and beautiful life together).
I feel very blessed to have had shared a meaningful portion of our lives together. Although no longer with us(which is admittedly tough)- I feel that she will be protecting us, watching us, and guiding us for whatever time we have without her here on earth. May her beautiful soul and our bountiful memories with her (and of her) remain forever close to us so she shall live on forever bright in our hearts!

I first met Rita , Isabelle and Helen at the old swimming hole on the elbow river when they were about 15 or 16 They were always together doing all the things young girls do to just stay out of trouble, except going down to the river to smoke. Rita was the shy one and only got into trouble when Helen tempted her and someone " T " would tell mom, that's the way I remember it. Many years of Rita's life moved through many years of marriage, 4 children, trip home with mom, carrier, grand kids and many friends. A most recent memory was about 6 years ago when Rita and Helen went to Creston to visit Isabelle , it was so nice to see life long friends talk, coffee and test wine for 2 full days. It been a long winding road and we are proud to have been life long friends. Rest in peace Rita. Helen and Ray parsons

I just loved your mom, she was just the best. My grandmother Mae McBain who lived down the street looked forward to her regular hair appointment with Rita, it was her social time, and good way to keep up the neighborhood news. She will be missed, all the best to Walter,Larry, Corinna, Maurina, Surina and family.

My sincere condolences on Rita’s passing. Our kids went to school together and we met at many school functions. She was also my hair stylist for years, until her health started to fail.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Your mom was so kind to me when we lived on the same street. I remember her delicious cooking and baking! She would do my mom and Nana’s hair and they loved sharing many laughs with her! Thinking of you all. ❤️ Laura

Rita and I became friends in our late teens through the many Italian Club functions. Her friendship was so real to me, it felt like I had found a sister. Together we navigated the joys and challenges of being young mothers. Rita was strong in her faith, and lived each day with Jesus beside her. She loved deeply, and was the most non-judgemental friend anyone could have. When she asked me to be Lawrence Jr.’s godmother I knew now we were solidified as family. I loved Rita’s spontaneity to reach out and grab each invite, that came her way,—/housework might have to wait, but times with friends could not. I loved her very much, and to tell you the truth, my husband Aldo always had a big crush on her, since high school. I will miss her dearly, RIP Rita, you are now at home.
Forever friends, Mirka Saraceni
My deepest sympathy to Walter, Rita's children and all her family and friends. I will always cherish my friendship with Rita, especially our trip to Banff when I was 17 years old. Rita would have been 19 at the time. We had a wonderful gathering with Rita's mom and dad and the Colacci family. We had a lovely meal with Rita's mom and dad, Maria's mom and Tina before going home to Calgary. We also had many other memorable events with the Poscente family. We have remained friends since 1957 and I was able to visit her a few times over the years
in Calgary even though I've lived in Cold Lake for 47 years. May the Lord bless and keep her. Love Cecile Braun.
I teared up at “her garlic potato salad”! I remember trying it for the first time at the Poscente family reunion and realizing just how much garlic there was in there! An absolute Auntie classic after that! I loved her so much and she was just so lovely. Sending my love and prayers to Walter, Larry, Corina, Murina, Surina and their families. ❤️
To Rita’s dear children & Walter,

I accidentally found Rita’s death this morning. Deepest sympathy to all of you on her death. COVID put an end to my visits with Rita after all the years of hair cutting and laughs we had. I went back to 12 St house to realize it was sold! I left a note there addressed to Rita, but never heard back. Thanks for all the memories and stories of you all growing up at st. Gerard’s with our kids Paul and Quinn. It’s never the right time to lose your mom. My heart goes out to all of you.

She was friends with my mom throughout their lives and they went to school together as did Larry and I.
She always treated me with kindness, respect and like one of her children. I only ever have the fondest of memories, hearing her laugh or talk to us. Truly a very special lady
I will miss her, and know she is in a better place looking after everyone with smiles and hugs forever. Until we meet again, and my deepest condolences to the family and everyone impacted on this loss of someone so loved and so very special.
Prayers to all who knew her on this day and moving everyday moving forward.
