Obituary of Dianne Sherill Ross

Dianne Ross, beloved wife of Gordon Ross, passed away on the evening of Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the age of 74 years, at Rockyview General Hospital near her home in Calgary, AB.

Dianne was born on July 2, 1949, in Edmonton, AB, to Nicholas and Naudia Kathleen Kraychy. She was the eldest of two daughters. Dianne attended the University of Alberta, where she earned a Bachelor of Education degree. She had a passion for teaching and spent many years educating and inspiring her students.

In her free time, Dianne loved to travel and lived in South America, Europe, and Asia. She also had a love for reading and gardening. She was a member of the Ukrainian Shumka Dancers and performed internationally.

Dianne was an accomplished individual who achieved many things in her life, but above all, she cherished her family. Dianne is survived by her loving husband, Gordon Christie Ross, their daughter, Nicole Christie Ross, her son-in-law, David Allan Kirkwood, and her sister, Lasha Lynn Kraychy. She will also be remembered by her many dear friends. Dianne was predeceased by her parents, Nicholas and Naudia Kraychy.

Dianne will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering dedication to her family, and her light that shone so brightly in the world. She leaves behind a lasting legacy and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace, Dianne.

A Celebration of Dianne’s Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
