Obituary of Bud Crump

May 25, 1942– RM of Ellice, Manitoba

May 23, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Francis Ernest Crump, beloved husband Norma Crump (nee Byers) of Black Diamond, AB, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the age of 81 years.

 

Francis was born in The RM of Ellice, MB on the family farm on May 25, 1942. He joined the Armed Forces Reserves and was stationed in Moosomin, SK, Canada. He moved to Winnipeg, MB, Canada in 1964 and married Norma in 1970.

 

He was very involved with The Winnipeg Ringette League and President of the Bonivital Ringette Association.  He was also a member of the St. Vital United Church. 

 

Francis accomplished much throughout his life and was particularly proud of his two girls and spoke of them often to whoever would listen.

 

Francis had a passion for Curling, playing it while he was younger at the Fort Garry Curling Club, and then later in his life enjoyed watching it with his wife from the comfort of their living room.

 

Francis’ most memorable vacation was when he traveled, with family friends, to a conference in St. Louis Missouri, USA. 

 

Besides his loving wife, Francis is survived by his two daughters and two sons-in-law, Audra (Curtis) Butt of Diamond Valley, AB, and Lindsay (Michael) Salonius of Niverville, MB; and two granddaughters Ava and Nanci of Niverville, MB. 

 

Francis is also survived by his three brothers and two sisters-in-law, John and Carol Crump of High River, AB. Murray and Elaine Crump of Welwyn, SK, and Steven Crump of Standard, AB; and his three sisters and one brother-in-law; Judie Lewis of Virden, MB; Carol Maxwell of Brandon, MB and Mary and Wayne Poole of Virden, MB. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Francis was predeceased by his father Francis Phillip Crump, mother Martha Crump (nee Gagnon), father-in-law Norman Byers, mother-in-law Barbara Byers, brothers-in-law, Charles Lewis and Harvey Maxwell; and sister-in-law Shannon Crump.
