Obituary of Debbie Yvette Tallman

July 23, 1955 - Regina, Saskatchewan

May 29, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta

Debbie Tallman of Calgary, AB, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, with her siblings, nieces and nephews by her side.

For those who knew Debbie, it was hard to think of her and not smile. She had so much passion for all the loves in her life. Her first love was fashion and after graduation from Ryerson University, she began a very successful career in fashion design. She had her own company called Multiple Choice and worked in costume design on many famous movies and TV shows filmed in Vancouver and beyond.

She loved to travel and learn about other cultures. She spent most of her life in Vancouver, BC, in the spring and summer, and Cabo, Mexico in the fall and winter.

Debbie loved her dogs like her children and was happy to learn that her beloved dog Chica would be well taken care of by a dear friend.

Debbie was always involved with her nieces and nephews, watching dance competitions, and hockey games and welcoming them into her home for a delicious home-cooked meal. She didn’t miss a beat. Debbie was a creative, and organized problem solver that anyone could count on. She had so many friends that she considered family, and many family members she considered friends.

Debbie loved her family immensely. Her brother, Guy (Brenda), and sisters, Michelle (Hans) and Renee (Rob) were her rocks here on earth and she is now joined with her parents Gordon and Aline in Heaven.

She also cherished her many nieces, Janelle, Emma, and Kasey, nephews Michael (Amy), David (Kam), John, Scott (Alisha), Will, and Rhett, as well as her great-niece Emelia, and great-nephews Declan, Theodore, and Louis.

Guy, Michelle, and Renee would like to express their deepest gratitude to the nurses and doctors at the Rockyview General Hospital who displayed such knowledge, kindness, and compassion to Debbie and her entire family in her last week of life.
