Obituary of Antonietta Mastrofrancesco

Antonietta Mastrofrancesco of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, May 31, 2024, at the age of 97 years. 

Antonietta was born to Giovanni and Carmina Petrillo in Santa Croce del Sannio, Benevento, Italy on May 23, 1927, and married Epifanio February 16, 1946. She immigrated to Canada in 1957 with her son Mike to join her husband, who had immigrated three years earlier to Calgary.

Antonietta was a passionate gardener who had great pride in her beautiful flowers and abundant vegetables. She also loved cooking amazing food for her family and friends. Antonietta enjoyed socializing with many friends and family, playing cards, sharing meals, and reminiscing about the past. She also enjoyed travelling to Hawaii with friends.

Antonietta will be remembered as a loving mother to Mike Mastrofrancesco (Udila) and John Mastrofrancesco (Tahni); caring nonna to Carla Mastrofrancesco (Frank), Jasmine Bean, and Josh Bean (Kristin); and bisnonna to Justin, Hailey (Nic), Michael, Danielle, Ariana, Tatum, Avery, Everett, and Lennox. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law, Elisa Petrillo and Lucia Mastrofrancesco; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Antonietta was predeceased by her husband Epifanio, sister-in-law Marietta Zeoli, brothers-in-law, Angelo Mastrofrancesco, Nick Zeoli, and Carmine Petrillo.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB T2E 2V6) on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Services to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
