Obituary of Corey Daniel Kenneth Caponero

Corey Daniel Kenneth Caponero, beloved husband of Linda Anne Caponero (nee Buell), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the age of 65 years.

Corey was born on March 18, 1959, in Calgary, AB. He pursued Adult Upgrading at Alberta Vocational College in Calgary. Throughout his entire life, Corey remained in his beloved hometown, where he eventually passed away.

He was a lover, not a hater and treated everyone as equals. He particularly loved Filipino people and had a lot of respect for them.

Corey accomplished much through his life and took care of his wife, Linda whom he married on September 26, 1992.

Corey had a passion for NHL Hockey. His favourite team was the Boston Bruins, and he loved Bobby Orr. He also loved to travel, his most memorable vacation was when he travelled to Hawaii, USA. He loved the sun and the beaches so very, very much.

Corey’s favourite quote was “The prejudices people feel about each other disappear when they get to know each other.” By James T. Kirk. Also, “Live Long and Prosper!” By Spock. Both are from the original Star Trek series.

He will be most remembered for his love of family, treating us all as equals, and his love and focus for his beloved wife.

Besides his loving wife Linda, Corey is survived by his son, William Caponero, brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Elsa Caponero, and sisters, Cynthia, and Colleen. He was predeceased by his parents, Ronald and Beverly (nee Nevard) Caponero.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
