Obituary of Kathleen Dolores Frocklage

November 28, 1930 - Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

June 6, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Dolores (Dolly) on Thursday, June 6, 2024. Dolly was predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years, Raymond, parents, Rod and Kathleen; sisters, Lillian and Fern; and her brother Rick. Dolly lived a long and fruitful life and was a devoted mother to five children, Marilyn (Murray), Roxanne (Ken), Christine, Ray, and Jill (Richard); as well as fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Dolly was born in Saskatoon. At nineteen she moved to Calgary and married Ray in 1949. In the mid-1970s, she started a career with the Alberta Department of Education as an office manager, enjoying her working years until her retirement. 

A fun, vibrant, and fashionable lady who loved to shop, Dolly lived a very active life that included travelling to many exotic places around the world. She always enjoyed a nice dinner and glass of wine with family and friends. She was a talented artist and enjoyed playing scrabble, crib, and duplicate bridge. 

Dolly loved her family, and her home was a center of activity hosting family gatherings, Christmas and Easter dinners, dance parties, and special occasions, all enjoyed by her extended family. 

Dolly was loved very much and will be greatly missed. Her memory will live on in her large extended family.

A Celebration of Dolly’s Life will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
