I have a letter to Winnie dated December 1946 from my grandmother, Winnifred Cross Macintosh. Grandma sent Winnie a pair of gloves and a gold bracelet which she had been given by her mother, Mary Jane Cross. The bracelet was engraved with Grandma's initials which were the same as Winnie's. Somehow the box containing the bracelet and the letter found its way back to me. A wonderful gesture and memory from the past.
