Obituary of Donald Kenneth Peterson

 April 1, 1945 – Gull Lake, Saskatchewan

June 4, 2024 – Cochrane, Alberta

Donald Peterson, beloved husband of Karen Peterson (nee Harrison), of Cochrane, AB, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the age of 79 years.

Donald was born in Gull Lake, SK, on April 1, 1945. He married Karen on July 31, 1966, and they moved to Medicine Hat, AB, in 1968.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Connaught Golf Club. Donald enjoyed golfing, curling, baseball, camping, working in the yard, and spending time with his family, grandchildren, great-grandchild, and walking the family pets.

Donald’s favourite saying was, “Takk skal duha, yusuke avi, ya ya ya.”

He will be most remembered for his smile, blue eyes, and friendly demeanour.

Besides his loving wife, Donald is survived by his two daughters, Gilda Brewin of Cochrane, AB, and Dawn Peterson of Cochrane, AB; four grandchildren, Jordan Brewin of Taber, AB, Meagan Brewin of Melbourne Victoria, Australia, and Lauren Achtemichuk and Mason Achtemichuk of Cochrane, AB; and one great-grandchild Jett Brewin of Taber, AB. Donald is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Larry Peterson and Joanne Peterson of Vernon; one niece, one nephew, and numerous cousins and friends.

Donald was predeceased by his parents, Randi and Arvid Peterson.

As per Don’s wishes, no service will be held.
