Obituary of Mary Teresa Vera MURRAY

February 2, 1928 – New Carlisle, Quebec August 14, 2014 – Calgary, AB Mary Teresa Vera Murray beloved wife of Sam Murray of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the age of 86 years. Vera was born in New Carlisle, a small town in the beautiful Gaspe region of Quebec. She joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1954 as a Registered Nurse and met Sherman (Sam) Murray. Sam and Vera married in 1960 and have five children. Vera is survived by her husband Sam, son Gordon Murray, son Ross Murray (Carolyn), daughter Therese Murray, daughter Danielle Valenzuela (Americo) and daughter Nicolle Hans (Trevor). Vera was a loving Grandmother to Daphne Stevenson (Go Flames Go!), Glenn Carlson, Jorden Murray, Kayleann Murray, Samantha Hans and Kevin Hans. Additionally, Vera came from a large family in Quebec and is survived by her sisters Irene and Mary, her brother Eric and many nieces and nephews throughout Quebec and Eastern Canada. She spent many happy hours playing Hearts and enjoying family gatherings with Paul, Marilyn Scott and Gina Rasmussen. She was predeceased by her brothers Charlie, Frank and Jerry and sister Ruth. She is also predeceased by her brother-in-law Paul Rasmussen of Calgary.
