Obituary of Quentin Allan Schmaltz

June 10, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Quentin Schmaltz, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024, at the age of 53 years.

 

Quentin Schmaltz affectionately known to many as “Q” was the eldest of two children to Larry and Darlene Schmaltz.

 

He was born in Camrose, AB, but was raised and attended school in Peace River, AB. Quentin had a passion for Mechanics. A trade that was taught and passed on to him by his father.

 

He enjoyed many things like Off-Roading, Bow Hunting and his Dogs. But his greatest pleasure was assisting his friends and family with their mechanics needs. He was always helping somebody.

 

Known for his exceptional sense of humor, Quentin brought laughter to those around him and will be fondly remembered for his wit and friendly nature.

 

Quentin is survived by his partner Linda Rufh, Daughter Mary-Ellen Coulthard, Granddaughter Riley Coulthard, Mother Darlene Schmaltz, Sister Raelene (Darrick) Buhler, Niece Chanell (Cassidy) Christoffersen, Nephew Casey Buhler, Niece Sage Buhler as well as several Aunts, Uncles and Great Nephews.

 

He was predeceased by his Father, Larry Schmaltz, and his Grandparents Chris and Anne Schmaltz, and Archie and Edith Butlin.

 

Celebration of life will be held at WestCreek Pub,300 Merganser Dr W, Chestermere, AB T1X 1L6 on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.

 

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to any animal shelter as Quentin had a love for dogs.
