Obituary of Nichol Ross TOPPS

November 26, 1992 – Lethbridge, AB August 13, 2014 – Calgary, AB Nic passed away suddenly but peacefully in his sleep. He has been so happy and healthy that this was an even greater shock. We would like to remember him for his great love of friends and family, he had matured into a wonderful young man with many talents. A great athlete, Nic enjoyed skiing, sprinting, wake-surfing, soccer and basketball. We are particularly saddened for Teya. They were such a great couple and obviously soul mates in the eyes of us all. Their relationship brought together two wonderful families, who have much in common and who are looking forward to spending many years of time together in the future. We are deeply touched by the support of his vast number of friends. Social media are wonderful tools at a time like this and we have been amazed at how many people have been affected by his sudden passing. We feel for you all. We were all delighted and proud when he was accepted into his first choice, Electrical Engineering at University of Calgary, this year. He was looking forward to this greatly. We apologize (but not much) to the more traditionally minded amongst you in the audience at the ceremony. We will play, amongst other things, some selections from the electronic music sets that Nic has so skillfully produced in recent years. He was a creative, passionate young man who we all miss terribly. Maureen, David, Sarah & family. Nic is remembered by his parents Maureen and David Topps; his sister Sarah Topps; his girlfriend Teya Smith; grandparents, Brenda Topps and George Smith and many close family and friends. A Celebration of Nic’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
