Obituary of Lynn Evelyn Bukowicki

November 4, 1952 - Calgary, Alberta

June 16, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta

Lynn Evelyn Bukowicki, beloved wife of Wayne Bukowicki, of Airdrie, AB, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at the age of 71 years.

Lynn was born in Calgary, AB, on November 4, 1952, to parents Ron and Norma Upshaw. She married Wayne on October 6, 1973, after dating for a mere six months. They were married for an incredible and loving fifty years; a marriage filled with love and devotion.

Lynn worked tirelessly alongside Wayne at Layne Homes. She was a gifted interior designer and decorator and loved working with their clients to make their dreams a reality.

She would spend many hours watching cooking shows, successfully recreating the dishes to share with her family and friends at the events she would hold. She was also an avid sports fan and loved watching the Blue Jays and Flames play. She made sure to yell loud enough that the players could hear her, no matter where in the world they were playing.

Lynn loved to sew, and she was an amazing seamstress. One Christmas she even made matching red dresses for her daughters and nieces. She loved to travel with Wayne, most recently on a Mediterranean cruise to celebrate their 50th anniversary. She loved to get dressed up and attend the formal gatherings that were held on board. She enjoyed meeting people abroad and learning about different cultures.

Her favorite saying was, “I love you to the moon and stars and back again”, often heard when spending time with her grandchildren.

Lynn is survived by her adoring husband Wayne, her three daughters, Charlene (Brett), Laura (Jeni), and Shawna (Nathan); as well as her five grandchildren, Gabriel, Liam, Avery, Kiera, and Zane; and her very loved and spoiled dog, Prince Milo. She is also survived by her siblings, Wayne, Blaine, and Janice; as well as her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends. She will be deeply missed by all.

She was predeceased by her father Ron, mother Norma, and her brothers, Lyle and Dwight.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to Covenant Care Foundation, Dulcina Hospice, directed to Fund 03: St. Marguerite Manor – Dulcina Hospice – Calgary, https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/80977.
