Jay Alexander Fendall, passed away on June 17, 2024, at the age of 65 years, following a courageous battle with lung cancer.

 

Born on May 29, 1959, in Calgary, AB, Jay was the son of Jim and Violet Fendall. He grew up alongside his siblings, Val, Janice, and Dale. Jay graduated from Bishop Grandon High School and embarked on a career that reflected his independent spirit.

 

Jay had four children, James (Monica), Jackie (Scott), Dean and Alexander; along with six grandchildren. He loved his children very much and always wanted the best for them.

 

He was an entrepreneur at heart, running his restaurant businesses earlier in his career and later putting his master carpentry skills to work. He was meticulous and took pride in his work.

 

He loved spending time at Windermere Lake, with countless hours spent on the boat in the summer and skiing at Panorama in the winter. He was a natural athlete and passed his love of sports and the outdoors on to his children.

 

Jay is predeceased by his parents and his sister Janice.

 

His memory will carry on in the hearts of his loved ones.

 

The family will hold a private celebration of Jay's life. They extend their heartfelt thanks to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and Unit 61A at the Rockyview General Hospital for their exceptional care and support during Jay's illness.
