Obituary of Eric Henry Shelton

February 20, 1944 – Lytton, British Columbia

June 18, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

Eric Shelton, beloved husband of the late Margaret Shelton (nee Craig), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the age of 80 years.

Eric was born in Lytton, BC, on February 20, 1944, and settled in Calgary. He graduated from the University of Alberta in 1965 with a degree in Science, Metallurgical Engineering. He began his career as a Researcher at Nova Corp and was promoted up to the Senior Vice President level. Eric had a passion for cycling, hiking, and the outdoors. He enjoyed trips across the globe exploring with Margaret and friends. Eric’s annual Christmas letters were a highlight for many giving witty insight into his adventures and musings.

He was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Margaret, and is survived by his brother Allan, sisters-in-law, Vivian and Elizabeth; nieces, Susan, Marnie, Alleyne, Shauna, Janene, and Lynsey; nephews, Kurt, Chris, and Geoff; as well as his beloved cat Tomas, and many friends.
