Obituary of Bryan Rodney Hodges

December 27, 1945 – Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

June 22, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

 

Bryan Hodges, beloved husband of Cheryl Hodges (nee Wilson), of Calgary, AB, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the age of 78 years.

 

Bryan was born in Saskatoon, SK, on December 27, 1945. He moved to Calgary, AB, at the young age of six months with his family and attended Crescent Heights High School.

 

Bryan worked for many years at both Enerflex and Propak Systems as a Sales Manager.

 

He married Cheryl in 1995 and together they made McKenzie Towne their home.

 

Bryan enjoyed many hobbies; among them was competitive shooting, belonging to IPSC Alberta and IPSC Canada for many years.

 

Bryan accomplished much throughout his life and was particularly proud of restoring the Royal Canadian top fuel dragster. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Bryan was involved in the top fuel drag racing scene in western Canada and the western United States.

 

Besides his loving wife Cheryl, Bryan is survived by his son Ryan Hodges (Trish) of Calgary, sister-in-law Yvonne Hodges, stepsons, Brian and Greg (Lynn) Hogeweide of Lethbridge; numerous grandchildren, as well as his sister-in-law Sandra Forrest (Jim), and nieces, Krissi and Kathy Forrest of Calgary.

 

Bryan was predeceased by his parents, John Phillip and Helen Laverne; and his brother Dale Hodges of Calgary.
