Condolences
Chris and Family. My deepest heartfelt sympathy on your loss. I met Art with the friends of Lake Louise touring guests. A funny moment was when Art let me lead a green tour, then under his breath at the halfway mark he chuckled I think you turned right on an easier black diamond- we giggled and survived. Next adventure he invited me to the CS Promotion Committee to be an outrider, then honed up my skills to rope the 2 legged people whereas it was different than the 4 legged critters, enjoyed his sparkle to have a lot of fun at various events such as Happy Trails, morning breakfasts, welcoming airport visitors. Having a celebration party at your home in Calgary and sharing jokes He will be truly missed yet his spirit/stories/humour will be forever with me. Ride high Art in the heavens above. Big hugs and love ❤️
Art was one of the first people I met as a newbie on the Stampede Promotion Committee. I was also new to Calgary and trying to get settled and meet new friends. Art was so kind to me and made me feel welcome and needed. I will always remember his kindness.

Art, a man larger than life, who certainly featured as a constant, a shining light, combining with Chris to form a strong positive team - sharing 4+ decades of adventures, having fun and making a difference. Thank you dear Art for the love and joy you always brought to your beloved soul mate - and my old friend - Chris. RIP.
Art was our Santa Claus and Chris was his helper at our annual Christmas party at Sanderson Ridge Condos---we fondly remember those events, and missed them when Art & Chris had to downsize to Assisted Living. Many great memories,

Chris and Family. Deepest sympathy on your loss. Art and I joined the Promotion Committee at the same time with the Calgary Stampede. We had a lot of fun at various events such as Happy Trails, early morning breakfasts and greeting international guests at the airport. Art was a great showman with his roping skills and he left a warm and memorable impression with everyone he met. Art always had a twinkle in his eye and he portrayed the true western spirit while dressed in chaps, boots and cowboy hat. He will be truly missed.
Myself, along with Bruce Smith, John Eddy, Tom Hardy, Paul Scott, and others had the unique pleasure of working with Art for a number of years, while at Dome Pettoleum. His leadership and friendship will be remembered always.
I had the phenominal opportunity to ski with Art and Chris (both cross-country and downhill) and on occasion enjoyed their friendship at their Bragg Creek country home.
Art was a unique individual... his office door and heart were always open. I fondly remember his sense of humor and sage advise.
My heart goes out to Chris and Art's family. I will be with you in spirit this Friday at the Celebration of Life.
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Art. I got to meet him on the promotion committee and do lots of events with him. My deepest condolences go out to you and the family. I am so sad I cannot attend the service, but will be in SK for a family wedding. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Art was special to Ski Friends; an unbelievable Coordinator and friend. We will miss Art, his smiling face and his humour.

Art had the most wonderful stories and memories he loved to share. He was a gentleman, an avid lover of nature, volunteering and life in general. He was a genuine friend to all. He will be missed!
I am deeply saddened to hear of Art's passing. I spent many fun Promotion Committee shifts with Art at the airport and elsewhere. The airport was the best when Art was there - the kids loved to be roped. Such a gentle giant, such a loss for Art's family and our community. Art, may you Rest in Peace.
Chris I am so sorry to hear about Art's passing. We were good friends through both the Promotion Committee and Lake Louise Ski Friends. We skied many miles together and helped write the Promotion Committee history book, sharing many memories, frustrations and laughs. Art was an integral member of the Happy Trails gang, acting as MC of our Promotion Committee events at Senior Centers. I will miss him a lot as will many. Donna Galvin
I have the best memories of Art. He was a gentle giant and I loved to volunteer with him as a Stampede Promotion committee member. The airport was my favorite as he always roped the aircraft crew and loved having the kids request him to rope the family member coming in on a flight. My best memory however was having Art do my Wedding invitations and Thank you cards. I still have Thank you cards that I use to this day 25+ years later. Art you were a class act and your giggle made me smile all the time. May the gate be open for you and may you wing your lariat all day long.
