Obituary of Clifford (Cliff) George Morton

Clifford “Cliff” Morton of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the age of 84 years. 

Cliff was born in Calgary, AB, on November 9, 1939. He was proud to be born and bred Calgarian and graduated in Ontario, getting his degree in Business Machines. 

Cliff married the love of his life, Carolynn Joan Leska, on May 18, 1962. They just recently celebrated 62 years of marriage. 

Cliff is survived by his wife Carolynn Morton (nee Leska), children, Karen (Kim) Phillips, Donald (Kera) Morton, Michelle (Perry) Giangualano; sister-in-law Doris Morton and brother-in-law David Leska, two very special cousins, Eleanor Joynt and Evelyn Helm; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and many other cousins and friends.

Cliff was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Katherine Morton, his brothers, William “Bill” and Donald “Donnie” Morton. Recently, he lost his eldest daughter, Christine Lynn Williams (nee Morton). 

Cliff enjoyed many years playing with the Fairview Oldtimers and spending many hours riding horses and helping others, especially his children and grandchildren. He was a very hard-working man, who was deeply dedicated to his entire family and loved his many pets throughout his life. He was also highly committed to developing his dream home, planting countless trees, gardens, and creating a legacy with his land.  

The family would like to thank the AgeCare Midnapore staff of Somerset for all their care and assistance to Cliff. 

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the family’s residence.
