Condolences
Saddened to learn of the demise of my friend and former classmate, Burke. He was intelligent, likeable, resourceful and much more.Bill Anderson, Edmonton AB
Helena. So sad to hear of Burke's passing. When we moved to Parkglen Crescent in 1984, Burke was one of the first to welcome us. Over the years, we appreciated his kindness and quiet conversations. It was fun when we found out that he and Brian, two Manitobans, were born on the same day and year. I attended the funeral and heard the lovely tributes to a good man and a good neighbor. Thinking of you and your family.

Dear Helena
I am deeply saddened to hear about Burkes sudden passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time . When I first met Burke at a Stampede breakfast after losing my husband his knowledge about wine and his kind presence left a lasting impression on me . I will always be grateful for the time he came over and fixed a loose board on my deck. It was a small act of kindness that meant so much . Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
With deepest sympathy.

Sending you prayers for peace and comfort,
Sincerely,

In the early 80s I was trying to make a career switch-not much luck until Burke gave me a hand. Always grateful-he was truly a gentleman. My best to the family at this difficult time

My sincere condolences to Helena, David, Julie and Bruce, and the wider family and friends on Burke's untimely death. I had the pleasure of getting to know Burke for the few memorable days that Burke and Helena stayed with me in May 2023. In the middle of all my self-inflicted madness that weekend we had some great chats and Burke and Helena settled in like we had known each other for ever, which was wonderful.
The first night they arrived I arranged a group photo of everyone that was in the house at the moment. There are 40 people in that photo - more than a few in their late 80s and even a few in their 90s. I have the photo framed and on a wall in my home and a few times since I mounted the photo I've wondered who would be the first in the group to depart this world. Burke never once entered my consideration, but sometimes life turns out in unexpected ways. I can't even begin to imagine the shock that you must be experiencing, as the sad news stunned us all here in Ireland.
Thinking of you.
Our sincere condolences to you Helena, David, Julie, Bruce and your families as well. We have many fond memories of Burke as a tireless contributor to Parkland community events and sports. How fortunate we are that in our hearts we keep forever the memories of those we love ...... and the time we shared together.
Beth and I wish Helena and family our best wishes at this very difficult time. Burke was a good friend starting back in the mid 60's at University of Manitoba. AGGIES ALWAYS. Rest in peace my friend.
Helena, I am so sorry to hear your sad news. Burke was a very kind, quiet spirit and he will surely be missed. He was someone who was always ready to reach out to people and to be helpful. I do hope that all of your warm memories of the times you shared with him will give you comfort.

Our condolences to Helena and family. Burke was a fellow student at the University of Manitoba from 1965-69. We saw Burke and Helena only a few times over the years. We have a lovely photo we could provide of our last visit at a wonderful dinner at Peter and Beth Sanderson's home in Courtney, BC, in August 2016. We enjoyed relating our travels and good times.
Doug and I are saddened and shocked to hear of the sudden passing of Burke. He was a very large part of our FLC. Curling community and will be missed greatly. I had the pleasure of having Burke as my curling skip on several occasions and it was such a pleasure as he was always so positive and encouraging. Burke was on the executive for many years and his involvement will be missed. It was our great privilege to have known and spent time with this very special human being, Helena, we send you and the family our deepest condolences.
