Obituary of Keith Robinson

With heavy hearts and unimaginable sadness, we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Keith Robinson in Calgary, Alberta. Keith will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Claudette Robinson (née Gouin), their children Paul (Joyce) and Jill (Brett), and grandchildren Isabel, Sophie, Taylor, and Cael. He is survived by his brother Ken of Calgary and sister Gail of Edmonton, as well as several nieces, nephews, and many friends and relatives. Keith was predeceased by his father Charles “Chuck”, mother Lennia, sister-in-law Ellen, and mother-in-law Clara.

Keith graduated from Ross Sheppard High School in Edmonton in 1962 and joined the family business, Fane Robinson Auto Body, where he worked for 20 years. In 1965, he married the love of his life and would have celebrated 60 years of marriage next year. In 1978, Keith, Claudette, Ken and Ellen started Minit Lube in Calgary. After over 40 years in business the company was sold in 2019.

Keith will be lovingly remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his kind and generous spirit. He loved his family and valued every moment he was able to spend with his wife, children, grandchildren, son-in-law and daughter-in-law. All Keith’s free time was spent at the cabin, his happy place, where he took great pride in looking after it. The yard was a haven for wildlife, which he loved, and always made sure the birds, chipmunks and a unique pair of ravens were well fed. In winter months, Keith and Claudette spent their time in Puerto Vallarta.

Keith leaves us with many cherished memories, among them, a recent trip to Mexico, as well as holidays in Scottsdale, Disneyland, Kelowna, and Penticton.

Keith’s Celebration of Life will be held at the Earl Grey Golf Club (6540 - 20 Street SW) in Calgary on September 8, 2024, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
