Obituary of Luciano Saraceni

June 27, 1942 – Fossacesia, Italy

July 1, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Luciano “Lou” Saraceni on Monday, July 1, 2024, at the age of 82 years. Lou was a two-time cancer survivor and passed away after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Lou was born on June 27, 1942, in Fossacesia, Italy, and immigrated to Calgary, AB, in 1951. There was nothing he cherished more than spending time with his family and friends and sharing good food, conversation, and a glass of wine.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Yolanda, and their four children, Sogna Stipanov (Josko), Paris Saraceni (Carla), Troy Saraceni (Bonnie), and Georgette Saraceni (Micheal Rattai); his nine grandchildren and many family and friends.

Special thanks to Dr. Dallas Seitz for his support through our mental health journey and to all the staff and physicians in Unit 43 and Unit 38 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital.

Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB) on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at 7:00 p.m.
