Obituary of Raymond Francis St Jules

October 5, 1955 – Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

July 3, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

With deep sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Raymond “Ray” St Jules, beloved husband of Sandra St Jules (nee Shaw), of Calgary, AB, on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at the age of 68 years.

Ray was born in Sault Ste. Marie, ON, on October 5, 1955. He eventually made his way to Calgary, AB, where he met his beloved wife, Sam (Sandra), and they shared 42 wonderful years together.

Ray accomplished much through his life. He was particularly proud of his profession in the commercial glass industry, enjoying positions as a glazier and window installer, among other glass projects, before retiring in 2020. Upon retirement, Ray liked to tinker, tapping into his talent for construction. He spent his time renovating his home and always being available for others.

Loving the cowboy Western ways of life, he enjoyed target shooting and volunteering as a stunt performer for Western entertainment. Ray was a TV buff and enjoyed a good animated, sci-fi, or B-rated movie, as well as watching golf and hockey, cheering on his favourite team, the Montreal Canadiens.

Ray loved nature and spent a lot of time outdoors, golfing, enjoying road trips with Sam, camping, or simply appreciating the birds and critters he discovered in his backyard. Ray’s most memorable vacations were those he shared with Sam, travelling to Ontario, Mexico, and Newfoundland.

Ray's circle of family and friends, whether near or far, were important to him, and he always kept them in his thoughts. He loved following his grandchildren and spending time with his nieces and nephews, so proud of who they are.

Ray will be most remembered for his fun-loving nature and strength of character, enduring and embracing whatever came his way.

Besides his loving wife, Sandra, Ray is survived by his mother, son, daughters, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren, as well as his nieces, nephews, and extended family. Ray was predeceased by his brother, Michael St Jules, and father, Raymond St Jules.

Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Ray’s family here.
