Dave grew up a few blocks away from me in Lethbridge. We first got to know each other from our fathers who both worked at the Lethbridge Research Station. From there our friendship grew. We attended many Research Station summer family parties and went to school together since our elementary years. Even as an older buddy of mine we stayed connected all these years. We sure had a lot of fun growing up from building snow forts to our Pilsner Stubby Bottle Beer Wall in the condo near the race track. And who could forget all the good times we had together in the School of Business at the University of Lethbridge. When I finally graduated and moved to Calgary you were my second home....probably because of the cedar hot tub and free food. Murray and Randy would know what I mean right boys? Together we built so many great memories, had many laughs and I will miss what was to come in our futures.
I will miss our conversations about business, investing, travel and concerts attended. Angie, Erik and Courtney Dave will always remain in each of our hearts and I will miss his voice and smiling face.
Tom.
I'm so sorry to hear this. Dave was a close friend, part of our group of high school friends. When I moved to Lethbridge, barely spoke English but having a close knit group of friends definitely helped and Dave was an integral part of that group. We both moved to Calgary and we saw each other regularly over the years until I moved away.
He had many dreams and made them a reality, especially once he met Angie. Whenever we talked over the phone most of the discussion centered on how proud he was of Erik’s and Courtney’s school, hobbies, and careers. His purpose in life was his family.
Angie, Erik, and Courtney, may the wonderful memories endure and for you kids, you will always have dad with you. He is literally part of who you are.
Dave
I have been reflecting on our history together.
I first met you in our teenage years when we both worked in the Lethbridge movie theatres, and went on to co-manage the drive-in theatre one summer, while going to University.
I enjoyed your company during our numerous road trips like the one where we hopped in my Mustang and took off to Kaslo, BC for a friend’s wedding. After the wedding, we ended up on a little used highway to Kelowna and stumbled across a series of S curves. I let you drive and vividly recall the grin on your face, as you put the car through its paces on those curves.
After school, our paths temporarily went different directions when you went to McDonalds University, and then managed a McDonald’s Restaurant. Somewhere along the way you went to work for an aviation company.
Our paths crossed again when we both ended up in the oilpatch.
Prior to your retirement, I recall hiring you to help me out in the accounting department at a junior oil & gas company (and a few years later hired Angie to help out at another oil & gas co).
I always enjoyed our many phone conversations, our talks about the stock market, and was especially excited to hear that you were planning a new oil & gas venture.
My condolences Angie, Erik, & Courtney (and the rest of your extended family)
I am going to miss you, my friend!

Dave was one of my best friends, from grade school until today. We grew up together (he lived just around the corner), went to school together, university, and even were roommates for a bit. He has a big heart and big dreams. And his dreams came true. I will miss him. Condolences to the family....and all of us friends,
David was full of personality and was a nice uncle. Randomly while in a baking phase he dropped off a red velvet cake for us.
Another time he organized a dinner so the family could meet our daughter.
Our deepest condolences Angela, Erik and Courtney. I have many great memories of Dave as we worked together and built a company together.
We fell out of touch the last few years and I am glad that I was able to talk to him a few weeks ago.
I met David when we were also going to school and he was the one who suggested I flip from taking the CGA program to the CMA/CPA program. He was such a great friend and someone who I could discuss anything with. I am very saddened with his passing and my deepest condolences to Angela, Erik and Courtney. I'll see you again someday. ~ Faron Belseck
Dave and I became friends in University, where we had many fun times. He was a natural leader, and often the center of attention. My mother met Dave for the first time, and told me. Watch that guy, he will do some grear things! I think he did. Condolences. Greg Ivanco
