Obituary of Joseph NAJMAN
March 15, 1933 – Prague, Czechoslovakia
August 8, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta
Joseph Najman passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014. He was 81 and packed much enjoyment into his life.
Joseph was born in Prague and raised in Protivin, where he learned to play the piano and became a dance instructor. After high school he graduated from the army academy as a chemical technologist. He was married to the love of his life, Monika, on July 26, 1962 and their daughter Monika was born December 5, 1963. He and his family along with his sister-in-law immigrated to Canada in October of 1968. He was active in the Czechoslovakian Association and retired from the Petroleum Recovery Institute with an award for achievement. In his retirement he and his wife made many happy trips back to Tabor, Czech Republic.
He is survived by his wife Monika Najman; daughter Monika Leibel of Osoyoos; granddaughter Sabrina Leibel of Kamloops; sister-in-law Maria Hejtmanek, her husband Vitek and their children Michael and Andrea and their families; brother-in-law Frantisek Novotny, his wife Ola, and their children Peter and Libor and their families. He was predeceased by his mother Marie Korotva, and his step-father Jan Korotva.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W.
