Beloved husband of Alice Ng of 56 years, Jones Ng of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the age of 80 years.

Born in Canton, China, on July 27, 1943, Jones immigrated to Canada with his wife Alice in 1972. Together, they owned and operated restaurants in Stavely and Nobleford, growing their family and creating lasting friendships in each community they served. In his spare time, Jones was a passionate photographer and loved Hi-Fi stereo systems. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and doting grandfather.

Jones enjoyed experiencing the world with Alice and his family, most recently visiting London, England, Paris, and Strasbourg, France, in 2023. Over the years, Jones and Alice travelled the world with memorable trips to Amsterdam, Rome, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Turks and Caicos, and Hawaii. Jones reluctantly discovered his love of cruising at the urging of Alice, and together they cruised through Europe and the Caribbean. Each trip allowed him to capture stunning photos. 

Jones is survived by his loving wife Alice, his daughter Jeannie (Craig), and his two sons, David (Sherri) and Raymond (Jill). Jones will be sadly missed by his six grandchildren, Allison, Rylan, Lily, Cohen, Mason, and Sophia, who he loved and adored. He is also survived by his three brothers, Chiu Bun (Sai Mui), Sammy (Maggie), and Winson (Nai Qing); and his sister, Janet (Ian). Jones was predeceased by his parents, Kwan Shui Ng and Choon Ng.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Monday, July 15, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Prairie Sky Cemetery, with a reception to follow at Ginger Beef Bistro House.

Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Ng’s service streamed live (see link below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted.
