Obituary of Maxwell Littlejohn

July 10, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta

William Maxwell Littlejohn passed away with family by his side on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the age of 91 years.

Max was born in St. John’s, NL, on September 8, 1932.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 64 years, Becky. Max leaves to mourn, his cherished daughter Gina Hoey (nee Littlejohn), son-in-law Mark Hoey, and adoring grandchildren, Molly and Aaron. He also leaves his extended family and friends in Newfoundland and abroad.

Max moved from Newfoundland 25 years ago with his beloved wife Becky to be closer to his daughter and family in Calgary, AB. Max was a smart man with a kind and fun-loving heart. He could always be counted on for an engaging conversation about history, politics, or news headlines. Although his mental health suffered at times, he would meet every challenge it presented to him with "I'll try". He would work in any way he knew how to fight past struggles, just so that he could be there for the people who needed him.

The family extends a sincere thank you to the staff at Rockyview General Hospital and Southwood Care Centre.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at St. Paul's Anglican Church (7 Sunmills Green SE, Calgary, AB) on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. 

Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church (7 Sunmills Green SE, Calgary, AB) on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Church Hall.   

Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Littlejohn’s service streamed live at St. Paul's Anglican Church - YouTube Channel on the day of the service.
