Michael Yuen, beloved husband of Gillypher Yuen (nee Torres) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the age of 41 years after a brave and courageous battle with cancer.

Michael graduated from the University of Calgary in 2006 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He accomplished many things throughout his life but was most proud of being a dedicated husband and father.

He loved outdoor activities including mountain biking and camping with his family. He will be most remembered for his lifelong passion for vintage air-cooled Volkswagens and was an active member of the Calgary Vintage Volkswagen Association (CVVA). He took much pride in owning and restoring his 1974 Sun Bug and 1977 Westfalia.

Michael will be remembered and eternally missed for his strong will, bright smile, intelligence, quick-wit, and most of all his thoughtful and kind nature towards others.

Michael is survived by his loving wife Gillypher, alongside his son Jaxon, and daughter Samantha. He is also survived by his mother Lily, and two sisters, Pene and Nadine. Michael was predeceased by his father Gene.

Michael's family would like to thank the many medical professionals, extended family, and friends who offered their love and support to Michael.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB T2E 2V6) on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
